"Save our souls."

The professor's last transmission.

When archaeologist Samuel Farrington investigates the disappearance of his teacher and long-time friend Professor James Darcy, he is drawn into an ancient conspiracy of monsters, men, and prophecies yet to pass.

Take up the role of a Morse operator, relaying Samuel's tale to an unknown recipient. But be warned: Samuel is a perfectionist, and allows very little room for error in how his story is told. Prepare for a long, long night...

'Morse' is a game currently in development. The future of the project is not set in stone - I would love it if you would try out the free demo below, available for Windows and Macintosh.  I have some ideas on how to develop the concept further, but the demo is indicative of the core gameplay loop - so if the demo ain't fun, the full version won't be either!

The game was heavily influenced by Jump King and Getting Over It, and it demands perfection on part of the player. Mistakes are punished. It is not a game for the impatient.

who let doopu cook 😭

This was so much fun to play. I can see why people might be frustrated, but honestly the difficulty was a delight. I'm looking for morse code games to help me practice, and a lot of them are either way too easy or way too advanced for me. When it sank in how the game worked, I actually went "oh shit" and rushed to get my headphones so I could fully focus on the game. This reminds me of those old typing games. Samuel's voice line playing every time you have to start over was a really nice touch.

Also opening up the game's readme file and seeing this

was hilarious.

Finally finished. Man, that took a dark turn.

"Sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow" aka the more interesting "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."

Sure was an interesting story. I'm curious to see how all this will unfold.

Wooow. I gotta be honest, I don't check this page often at all, so I was amazed when I saw not one comment, but two. I was even more amazed when I saw someone actually finished my little demo! Did you switch the difficulty to the Story mode or complete it on Original? Either way, mad props.

I'm glad you had fun, it was really great for me to see someone take the demo through to the end. I have a few ideas for where to take Morse going forward, so we'll see where we end up!
